He threatened to let me have the artwork, which I graciously let slip, so I'm sure he'd let you have a copy. c) Sue - e-mail me and I'll add you to my mailing lists for Tudor Folk Club and the Blue Ball singaround |

Subject: RE: Tunes session, Rickmansworth, May 5 From: Dave Bryant Date: 07 May 02 - 05:07 AM Great music session - lots of my favourite tunes (Sir John Fenwick's Air, Woodland Revels, Sir Sydney Simith's March .....). Also a some great instrumentalists - and a wide selection of instruments - I just wish the guy with the big brass spittoon hadn't kept moving it around - it made it difficult to hit ! Congratulations to Hamish, Dianne and all who made the weekend such fun. |

Subject: RE: Tunes session, Rickmansworth, May 5 From: Hamish Date: 07 May 02 - 04:36 AM Yes - thanks to the Hata for doing the bizzo, and all players/listeners. Also on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. Overall a good weekend, I'd say. Granted, there were the odd moments where things slowed up a little, but a big thanks to everyone for taking part in good spirit. Jonno finished off for us last night and says "Had a great time. David came back with his fiddle and Jude fluffed her chance of stardom!! I was better than average. Diane is really an O.K. landlady Thank you for allowing me in". Just don't ask me if it's going to be an annual event! Well, not yet, anyway... |

Subject: RE: Tunes session, Rickmansworth, May 5 From: treewind Date: 06 May 02 - 05:20 AM Thanks to all who turned up for last night's session. If you missed it, more fool you - it was a cracker! Just the right mix and number of players, lots of good music from start to finish. Thanks to Diane at the White Bear for her hospitality (mega pile of sandwiches...!) and to Hamish for organising the music for the weekend overall. And I've spotted one or two fellow 'catters and made some new friends. The show goes on today, of course - see the other Rickmanworth thread.... Anahata |

Subject: Tunes session, Rickmansworth, May 5 From: treewind Date: 15 Apr 02 - 05:39 AM For anyone within reach of Rickmansworth (UK): There's a weekend of folk song and music at the "White Bear", a pub in Rickmansworth (NW of London) on the weekend of 4/5/6 May. If you're not off to Rochester, Hastings or any of the other 'Mayday' bank holiday weekend events this might be for you. On the Sunday evening, there's a (mostly English) tunes session which Mary and I are running, so please bring instruments and join us. The pub has a garden which backs on to the canal - I haven't been there but it sounds like a like a nice setting. They will be serving food so you won't have to be drinking on an empty stomach from 6pm to closing time!
Incidentally, Chris Amos, recently made famous in another Mudcat thread, will be performing on the Monday too. Make a weekend of it! |
