Yeah, you're right, Tweed, Chuck Berry was fantastic! So cute!

Chuck Berry was good! So was Aretha...both on the PBS special. Chuck even did the duckwalk. Worth wading through the rest to see those two, for me anyhow.

(Cookie's gone again.)

Yeah, Don, I was gonna 'rib' Peter about that in the Forum, but ya beat me to it. I imagine he and the crew broke up a bit as soon as he was off camera! That's live TV for ya!

I enjoyed what I saw of the ABC special--especially Arlo singing a duet with Woody. Gillian Welch was great, too. And with the Brooks & Dunn song they ended with, they didn't need what's-his-name's song (Toby Keith, was it?) as a tribute to the 9-11 victims and heroes.

What I saw of the PBS party was pretty much like it always is, and songs like Charlie Daniels's "The Last Fallen Hero" (cf. the thread about Charile) really WOULDN'T have fit the mood of the party.

Genie

"Mormon Tabelnacker Choir?" Really, Peter!!???

Well, it was a three hour show, so I guess you just have to cut the guy a little slack.

Switched off from most of it and PBS's on the White House lawn was even less interesting..if I wasn't mistaken they even had Britany Spears!Ugh! Later PBS had a wonderful program on Geo. Washington.

It's not on here in Portland, OR, so I guess they're gonna tape-delay it. Makes sense.

Would have missed this if I'd been using the BS filter. Please go ask the Help volunteers to retitle this so others don't miss it!

Tonight at 8:00pm (EST) there will be a 3 hour special on music in America. Peter Jennings is hosting a salute to our diverse musical heritage. If we keep our fingers crossed, they may repeat the great blue grass segment from Appalachia, which was shown last night. ABC tv.
