My only variation was after We Had a Milk Cow, no Milk would She Give...One day that rooster came into our yard And Caught that milk cow right off of her guard. "She's giving Egg Nog" then I say "in Waxed Containers" Ever since that rooster came in to our yard....

The Gum Tree: "It's giving chicklets, in multi-colors" The Gas pump: "It's giving Shell gas No Lead and Regular"

I am anxious to see other lyrics. This has been a life- long favorite of mine. Thanks for bringing it up.

The lyrics in RUS go something like this:

. . . chicken, it wouldn't lay eggs . . .
. . . laying eggs now . . .

. . . milk cow, it wouldn't give milk . . .
. . . giving eggnog . . .

. . . gum tree, it wouldn't give gum . . .
. . . giving chicklets . . .

. . . gas pump, it wouldn't pump gas . . .
