Most of Office 2000 should work well with Windows XP. If you go to the Microsoft Knowledge Base and put in WindowsXP as the "system" with Office 2000 as the query, you will get quite a bit of stuff about Outlook migration problems.

With a new installation on a new machine, everything should work ok except for some "privileges" settings that XP needs. As an example, XP won't want to let you "turn on" Outlook with only "user" permissions - you need Administrator aurthority(?).

Other possiblity - you got peanut butter on the Ctl and Alt keys, so when you hit Del it tries to reboot??????? Or you're on a portable with a touch pad - everytime I reach for a key on one of those, the "mouse" goes haywire.

John

Your problem is Outlook. It's the devil's work. Use Eudora or Pegasus.

I've run it and never had any problems with it.
Beyond that, I'm not sure what to tell you, hope it works out.

Does anyone know, or where I can find out, if Office 2000 works with XP Professional? I am having problems with Word and Outook, if I have to delete the computer "switches off" and then re-boots. cheers
