Subject: RE: BS: Punch, the horse, in a movie From: Declan Date: 28 Nov 02 - 09:06 AM Thanks for the info & links. So far I've come up with Paul Giovanni (II) who was credited as the composer of te Music & songs. The following who were credited as 'Musicians' Peter Brewis Michael Coles Ian Cutler Bernard Murray Andrew Tompkins I gather from a linked post that Ian Cutler was the fiddler. So which of the others was which? I originally wondered were the actors credited as musicians actually playing. It looks as if they were. There's an Ian Campbell listed in the cast. Is he a famous folkie of the period or do they just share a name? The music seemed quite interesting, but none of the names mean anything to me. |

Subject: RE: BS: Punch, the horse, in a movie From: Gareth Date: 27 Nov 02 - 06:41 PM Vaugly, and very vaughly, I think th 'Orse may have bee one of the sacred animals. Sacrifices were made in the form of building a wikker WICCA cage, stuffing your local enemies inside same, and burning. So here we have it - build a cage in the shapew of a 'Orse fill i and incinerate !!! Gareth |

Subject: BS: Punch, the horse, in a movie From: Declan Date: 25 Nov 02 - 07:45 AM Sorry for the misleading title, this has nothing to do with Hull9 Over the week-end I was watching the Director's cut of the British Horror film The Wickerman which featured both Punch and the Horse as characters. There was also some very good folk and folk-rock type stuff from when the film was made around 1973. There was very scant information in the credits about who the musicians were etc. Anyone have any details ? |
