I would recommend a PUTW model 20 or 27 (depending on the style of bridge). These can be mounted under the bridge or one of the bridge feet and can be prefitted with a "carpenter jack" which clamps fiddle chinrest-style to the edge of the instrument, therefor no holes or drilling. The sound is excellent and very natural and feedback resistant.

While I personally think you'ld be better off investing in a good condenser microphone (AKG C 1000 and Audio Technica 3031 both work very well with mandolin), Fishman makes a neat pickup built into a bridge unit that you might check out. No holes, just swap bridges and away you go.

I have a 1922 Gibson Mandolin,we use it in our Bush Band.
Can I have some advice please about pickups,I would prefer not to drill or cut holes.
Perhaps a belt preamp and some type of internal mike.
Thanks.
