Looks good -- I've only seen the Martin Carthy so far. It might be worth pestering BBC4 to show Transatlantic Sessions....

Hi all
I'll see what I can find out re BBC R3 Folk night on 19th March...
But the (TV) BBC4 night in Jan sounds good....Tell your friends to inundate the Beeb with comments.
When the Carthy doc was first shown a few months ago, It had one of the largest audience responses ever, apparently....
A bit more pushing and we might get some of this stuff onto UK terrestrial TV....( Yes, I know....!!)
Meanwhile, keep listening to, and commenting on, Late Junction, Kershaw et al....they are doing a sterling job in this land of Fame Academy etc.
Any exposure is good exposure
Regards Ralphie
PS...there's an Anne Briggs track on this weeks Kershaw!! and we're looking for her Peel sessions.....Don't hold your breath though.

Artbrooks, that's Radio4. BBC4 is a TV station, and something different entirely. (Can well understand your confusion, though)

As RolyH says, it's all repeats, and I have everything that I want on tape anyway. The extra half hour of Carthy is interesting though.

Just picked this up from Folk Roots.
BBC 4 tv is to screen a 'folk' night on January 4th

1900:Cambridge Folk Festival(2002)
2100:Christy Moore Uncovered
2230:Martin Carthy and Friends
2400:Down From the Mountains
0130:Nick Drake,A Skin to Few

Mostly repeats but the Carthy concert includes an extra 30 minutes.

The BBC is also getting together an English Folk night on the 19th March on Radio 3,details unknown at the moment.
