Subject: RE: Songs about. Pocahontas (1600 AD) From: Jeanie Date: 30 Jan 03 - 06:24 PM Here's the website for St. George's church, with the memorial and details of the time Pocohontas spent in England: St. George's Church, Gravesend Another place with a family connection is Heacham, Norfolk, home of the Rolfe family. The real Pocohontas story is *far* more interesting than what Disney did to it in the film. All the best with your research, wilco ! - jeanie |

Subject: RE: Songs about. Pocahontas (1600 AD) From: GUEST,Q Date: 29 Jan 03 - 02:11 PM You probably have this, but an interesting genealogical note at American Memory. Put Pocahontas in Search and item 3 is a note on her genealogy from the Thomas Jefferson papers. Thomas Rolfe, the son of Pocahontas, had 2 sons by his third wife, but apparently they used the spelling Relfe. |
