I looked into Musical Borrowing: An Annotated Bibliography, but no literature on "Scottish fantasy" was found. ~Masato |

Subject: Tune Req: Folk tunes in Bruchs Scottish fantasia From: fogie Date: 02 Apr 03 - 04:49 AM This started worrying me when I answered a query a couple of weeks ago in the Cat about "through the woods laddie", and it was mentioned that it was a theme in the above work. I did think this was the case, but on digging out my LP. I found that all the tunes quoted were.....Auld Rob Morris. Hey the dusty miller. Scots wha-hey. and I,m doun for lack of Johnnie. Leaving aside all that springs to mind concerning the last title, I'd be fascinated to know if there are any other tunes in the work not quoted on my LP. cover, or if some tunes are known by different names, which may explain the confusion. |
