Subject: RE: BS: Poor old InOBU... no place to sleep... From: GUEST,Claymore Date: 09 Apr 03 - 08:44 PM If it only leaks after the snow starts melting its probably your flashing or what is known as a snow dam (the reason for snow angels or snow birds on old fashioned roofs). For a hundred bucks you could go to the Wal Mart and get a dining canopy which will provide a lovely covering over your bed. Add one citronella candle by the bed, and you should be able to screw your "Significant Other" into a coma, what with the gentle rain on the canopy and all. And when it runs down to the lower floors, those occupants will be the one to complaint about two or three noises; the dripping, the squeals, and the mattress squeaks. Adapt and Overcome... |

Subject: RE: BS: Poor old InOBU... no place to sleep... From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Apr 03 - 07:38 PM I called the building inspector when I lived in Brooklyn and got tired of the dripping celing in my top-floor apartment. Where was the leak? In the bathroom, and conveniently, it dripped right into the toilet. Downside--it dripped on your head when you were on the pot! I finally rigged a large trash bag, some duct tape and a tube of sorts out of Saran Wrap that ran from the snipped bottom corner of the bag to the sink. Looked like a gigantic udder with a milking machine hose attached. The building inspector thought it was pretty nifty. Apartment owner wasn't thrilled with any of it, because he could never find the leak and had to do the whole roof. SRS |
