Best of luck to you Larry! I hope the jam session will be a success!

At last count there were at least 11 folkies in NYC, although one or two of them were visiting from NJ!!

Oh and for those of you who feel music only belongs in bars, they serve beer wine and booze.

I have fed guests a good meal for under $20, so, $7-10 is usual for diner, but you can eat there for cheeper. $4-7 lunch, and the coffee keeps coming, nice people. Hope to see ya, Cheers Larry

If I ever get back to NYC I will stop by. I still remember when you could have a full dinner either at the Odessa or at Leshko's down the block for just 85 cents. That was 1967, the Summer of Love, except in Newark or Detroit, or Viet Nam for that matter. The next summer was spent in Resurrection City, until the DC Metro Police forced us all out. But by then the shit was happening all over, and the next couple of years were just a blur. When I finally got back to the East Village, Jimi was dead, Janis was dead, the kids at Kent State were dead, the kids at Jackson State were dead, and the price of a meal had reached a dollar. Any idea what it is now?

Will this be a jam session, an open mike, or a paid performer venue? What time do they start? Is there a cover charge? Who do I contact if I want to perform there?

The Peace Cafe will begin to meet at Odessa, a restaurant on Ave A between St. Marks Place and 7th Street at 8pm starting next week on Wednesday night. Singers, instrumentalists, all welcome. The back table will be reserved for us. Now, there are two Odessa's side by side, we will be in the New Odessa, the one closest to St. Marks Place. Dinner is CHEEP! at Odessa, great middle European, Middle Eastern, Italian or American cuisine.
