Subject: RE: English Folk Song - BBC Radio 3 From: GUEST,MCP Date: 17 Jan 04 - 07:36 PM They've got a couple of records on Beautiful Jo - see Alva for links to them. I think Vivien also did a record with Tim Laycock and the Scorpion Band. Mick |
Subject: English Folk Song - BBC Radio 3 From: Adrianl Date: 17 Jan 04 - 05:40 PM Did anyone hear the concert of English Folk Song given by Vivien Ellis and Giles Lewin as Alva on BBC Radio 3 Early Music Show today? If not listen on Radio 3 What a briliant concert! Normally when classically trained singers sing folk music it sounds forced to me but this was superb. And the accompaniment by Giles Lewin was sparse but fitted so well. I have searched for a CD with this music on it but could not find one. Does anyone know of a CD with these songs by this duo?
