Subject: RE: Samuel P. Bayard Collection From: Q (Frank Staplin) Date: 02 Apr 04 - 08:04 PM You may have to go to the University of Pennsylvania to find what you want. Contact hlm@sas.upenn.edu if you intend to visit. The published volume is almost unobtainable for purchase. Jeff Todd Titon, 2001, Old Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes, pub. Univ. Kentucky, is still available ($45) but may become hard to get as well. |
Subject: Samuel P. Bayard Collection From: harperB Date: 02 Apr 04 - 05:53 PM I am new to Mudcat,so please forgive me if I shouldn't be asking this here. I am interested in knowing if any or all of the Samuel P. Bayard Collection of ballads and instrumental music collected from the hills of SW. Pennsylvania in 1928 is currently available to purchase or copy in staff notation form (lead sheet or melody only is fine). I know 1/2 of the collection was printed in 1982 as Dance to the Fiddle,March to the Fife and it appears it was also printed in 1944 as Hill Country Tunes. Thanks for your help, harperB |
