Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Amos Date: 30 Apr 04 - 07:17 PM What's really outrageous effrontery is his latest statement about how deeply disgusted he is that some GI's were torturing Iraqi POWs. Yet he is singly responsible for spilling more Arab blood on the sands of Mesopotamia than any other world leader since Queen Victoria. Probably since Ghenghis Khan. But somehow, that doesn't disgust him, all those spilled brains and intestines and torn muscles and heart's blood spilled out. Now, what is disgusting is the dozen or so that got caught up by the torture detail. Why? Because one of these is Un=American. The other is not. He thinks he knows which. Jaysus wept. A |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Chief Chaos Date: 30 Apr 04 - 11:40 AM Yes indeed, you can be charged with making a "false official statement" in almost all Gov't related investigations. Oath or not. We expect the people in places of authority to be up front and honest with us so that we can prevent whatever happened from happening again. If we can prove they lied, we'll go after them. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Kim C Date: 30 Apr 04 - 11:08 AM I wonder if it was a slur against the two people who walked out in the middle yesterday, citing "other engagements." It's on the Drudge Report. Apparently there were some people who didn't take the time. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Rapparee Date: 30 Apr 04 - 09:30 AM Well, in that case it would seem to be perjury. Same thing they bitched about with Clinton. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Allan C. Date: 30 Apr 04 - 09:27 AM Oh, I get it. They can lie to each other and they can lie to us; but we can't lie to them. Strange rules in this game. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Jim Dixon Date: 30 Apr 04 - 09:22 AM I think there has been a recent change in the law that now makes it a crime to lie to any government official during the course of any investigation. You don't have to be under oath. I think that's how they convicted Martha Stewart. We'll see whether it applies to one government official lying to another. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: Ebbie Date: 30 Apr 04 - 08:01 AM Ah, but you see, "I'm the president, I don't have to explain." kat, I read somewhere that because he took the oath of office, he is already under oath any time he speaks officially. Damn. I do hope he 'misspoke" and that the truth will finally convince the bushites. |

Subject: RE: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: katlaughing Date: 30 Apr 04 - 06:41 AM That's about what my daughter and I said when we saw him pre-empt regular programming to smirk and spew nothing of substance, Kendall. What is wrong with the commission that they accepted his terms of 1) meeting in the Oval office, 2) refusing to testify under oath, 3) allowing no taping, no record of testimony, save one "note-taker," and 4) having to have his handler, Cheney" there "King" George, indeed. |

Subject: BS: I'm glad I took the time From: jacqui.c Date: 30 Apr 04 - 04:30 AM Kendall here, Is anyone besides me outraged at resident Bush's comment about his appearing before the commission on terrorists? I'd hate to have his nerve in a tooth! I'M GLAD I TOOK THE TIME!! SUFFERING JESUS, HOW FUCKING ARROGANT IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ONE ASSHOLE TO BE? |
