Beg pardon Roger

I thought you were referring to blues, I should have taken a closer look at the names. Can't argue with their musicianship and value as entertainers but I don't consider them to be blues.

There's an old saying common to blues and country musicians regarding mule farts, I guess you know what I'm saying.

By the way the fat man is right about Othar Turner, he won't be there.

Enjoy Greece.

Sorry, Hoot, this is several days of live concerts, NOT a showing of the films which are on BBC3 at the moment.

This blues package is a showing of six of the seven "Martin Scorsese" films which are currently showing two nights a week on BBC 4 TV.
Some good vintage clips to be sure but there is also some dross including "blues singers" Lulu and Tom Jones in the UK film and some atrocious current (I won't call them musicians) people murdering material by Skip James and J B Lenoir. Even in this Wim Wenders pile of junk though there is some interesting amateur footage of JB, and some film of Skip himself. But the Willie Johnson section? garbage.

I guess they will probably be shown on the regular BBC TV some time in future

Typical!
I head off for Greece early June and as soon as I'm gone a blues package will be at the London Barbican Theatre (June 2nd onwards) including Taj Mahal, Eric Bibb, Odetta, Bob Brozman with an international band, and (coincidence, hey, Fat B*****d?)Othar Turner's Fife & Drum Band with the North Mississippi All-Stars.

I don't know if they're touring anywhere else. (www.barbican.org.uk for details).
