Bugger! We've broken the Clicknames server and the site's gone invisible.

I hope it's only temporary...

Did'nt get to the Birmingham gig but got the t-shirt at Cropredy (hope that's not cheating). Will keep me eye on the Swarbaid web-site, be great to attend any gig that helps Swarb. Let's all keep fingers, toes and owt else crossed that he can get a new lung and be up and about soon.

Hi Peoples.
Spoke to Mr Carthy last week, who said that he had just spent a few days recording with Mr S the week before, and the project was going well...Watch this space, and good luck with the show.
A National treasure indeed.
Regards Ralphie

A new grass-roots SwarbAid campaign has now started, organised by Britfolk. The idea is to put on local benefit concerts all over the UK.

The web site for all info about this is http://www.swarbaid.org.uk

There's not much info there yet - only a draft press release. Expect lots more soon as information comes in.

Also if you think you could organise a benefit do, or participate in anyway, there will be a list of local organisers on that site - or you can volunteer to be on that list.

Think about it; post ideas here (this is a very new project) and I'll announce major changes to the site contents here as they happen.

If you have a web site, links to the above URL would be appreciated.

Does anyone on this thread have an extra ticket? I delayed too long in ordering and now the show seems to be sold out. If you have a spare please let me know at fania at patriot.net (use the @ sign instead of "at") -- thanks!

All the best for the concert. Just out of interest did anyone see that one of the plane spotters held by the Greeks a few years ago was sporting a Swarb Aid T-shirt most of the time.

For those who can't attend, is there a mailing address to which donations to boost the fund may be sent?

Don't know how many mudcatters are up on the following, but am posting anyway. Sorry if I have crossed threaded.

SwarbAid II - Tunes help you breathe more easily!
As many of you know Dave Swarbrick has been battling with emphysema for the last five years. A chest infection during the autumn of last year complicated the situation and thanks to fantastic work by Warwick and Papworth Hospitals he was able to pull through. Although he is now out of hospital his health is still fragile. At the moment it is impossible for him to perform and he has to prepare himself for a single lung transplant in the near future. To help him through this difficult time his pals in Fairport Convention have organised a benefit concert for him at Birmingham Symphony Hall (Box Office 0121 780 3333) on Sunday 20th June 2004. The show will begin at 7.30p.m. and tickets are £16.50 each. The concert will feature Richard Digance, Fairport Convention, Ralph McTell & Waterson
Carthy and there is the possibility of surprise guests.
Further details can be found at
www.fairportconvention.co.uk and www.folkicons.co.uk/swarb.htm
