I picked up Lauren's CD, Some Old Lonesome Day, this afternoon. What a wonderful recording! I especially liked a couple of songs, "Won't You Come and Sing for Me?" and "The Monkey and the Engineer" (I think the Grateful Dead recorded it, too). Lauren has a powerful voice and an intelligent style.

Lauren's Website is http://www.laurensheehanmusic.com/.

You'll find an in-depth review of her CD here.

I must have missed something here---why would you think that? She is, however, from Maine. That is pretty far east.

Hope you can join us on Sunday.

Surely with a name like Lauren Sheehan she should be from further East than Oregon!

Whatever area you are in I think you will enjoy my guest from Oregon this week---Lauren Sheehan. Join me in discovering a fairly new talent in our wonderful world of music.

Lauren will talk with us about her life, her music, and we will, best of all, be hearing some of her wonder music. It ranges from the Traditional to more contemporary material

Also---it is Memorial Day Wknd here in the US. Let us remember, musically, some of the conflicts, sadly, that we were involved in. From the Civil War on to today. You will be hearing the likes of Eric Bogle, The Weavers, and some you may not be expecting.

You can, as always hear us on the web

Traditions airs on from 3-6 PM on WFDU 89.1 FM Teaneck NJ
