Subject: RE: 2004-Washington (DC) Folk Festival From: Bobert Date: 31 May 04 - 09:16 AM I'll be there on Saturday BUT, sniff, not Sunday 'cause that's when I was gonna get to play... But you'll hear all my friend who I play with, the Archie Edwards Blues Foundation on Sunday. Man, I hate to miss it 'cause I always get to lead at least one song when we take our stuff on the road, but, alas, I have a part planned at my house and gonna have to miss this one... Bobert (Alias, "Sidewalk Bob" to the folks down at Archie Edwards Barber Shop...) |

Subject: RE: 2004-Washington (DC) Folk Festival From: GutBucketeer Date: 28 May 04 - 06:35 PM Yes, If you can come, you must try to make it! Especially because many great Mudcatters will also be performing! On Sunday, the day starts with a Fantastic Performance from "The All New Genetically-Altered Jug Band featuring yours truly on Gutbucket, jug, and jawharps. (June 6th, Family Stage, Noon to 12:30). It ends with the fantabulous "Old Time Country Music Show" Featuring Chance and Suzette Shriver and many other wonderful musicians (Crystal Pool, 5:00 to 6:00 PM). EAch alone is well worth the price of Admission! And don't forget the jamming under the trees, that starts Saturday Morning, and runs continuously until Sunday evening. Who else is scheduled to play? Subject: 2004-Washington (DC) Folk Festival From: Bill D Date: 28 May 04 - 06:12 PM I just felt like mentioning to the world that the newly revived (after 3 year hiatus for park construction) WFF, which has been presented at Glen Echo park in Glen Echo, MD, north of Wash. DC almost every year since 1977 will happen again the weekend of June 5-6. If you have anyway to get there, consider attending, as it is a special thing, featuring hundreds of performers from many cultures. Seven different stages/venues for music, dance, storytelling, crafts...etc. This is a FREE festival, with all work and performances by volunteers. Even if you can't make it, take a peek at the plans and schedules and be forever envious! *grin*...We have a great time, and feel pretty smug every time we manage to get thru this. |
