Subject: RE: BS: Finding a good but cheap ISP From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 13 Jun 04 - 07:03 AM Since pop-ups are changing....the reference for The Harpster's recommendation at the bottom of the page was a subscription to NetZero.

Subject: RE: BS: Finding a good but cheap ISP From: GUEST,.gargoyle Date: 13 Jun 04 - 07:00 AM Please ignore The HARPSTER's recommendation.
Before following her lead check out the perils along her path.
Reviews and URLs for full accounts are included but here are comments from actual users - the ratio is 70% negative experiences. This set of thirty one reviews range from: "Their customer service is absolutely horrible."....to "Please do not get NetZero, I would rather have AOL than NetZero (yes it is that bad). " and also "Worst internet service I have ever had. " Read reviews before you buy. "http://www.isprank.com/view-reviews/869.html This person had serious issues with NetZero http://www.epinions.com/content_24721919620.
A quick summary of one man's experience and some replies http://www.epinions.com/content_108233264772 I hate Netzero. I hate the fact that it seems offended by my requests to log on. I hate the fact that it shuts down - not just at the most inoppurtune times, but at all times. With Netzero, you actually seem to pay them to screw you over.
I've wondered (Reply to this comment) by naphtalia why a place that advertises half the price doesn't have more users. Now I know.
Chad, You're a brave man, my friend...and I owe you some dough for the comments, I'm sure! My dad uses Netzero and despises it...but it's the only reasonably priced ISP around, sadly. I use Road Runner, but split it 4 ways, so it's as cheap as Netzero in that regard. Either way, sorry Netzero sucked life out of you....and here's to faster connections.
by millinocket I owe you some cash, my friend. Anything that makes AOL look good really must suck.
Sue Wow, this sounds awful, and although I know it's not funny a bit, you made me laugh while reading this. I love your style!
It was a great exposition! It sounds very similar to Juno (aren't they connected somehow?) - my husband's ISP. I've learned a lot of new swear words each time he tries to log on.
Thanks for warning us and GOOD LUCK!
http://download.com.com/3302-2104_4-10121318.html?pn=1&fb=2 I swear it is NOT worth the $9.95/month"
"Their software screws up Windows programs. "
"A subsequent Google search on the internet revealed that I am not the only Netzero customer who has been victimized by this Netzero scam."
"Very very slow and very very unstable connection. It sucks. " "Thanks NZ, your name says it all. You need my $9.95 so much? Have it and choke on it. "
"High-Speed Software it locks everytime I attempt to access Netzero. "
"Extremely bad customer service. Don't waste your time with this company."
""Horrific. Simply horrible."....Oh, by the way, watch your checkbooks! NetZero/Juno likes to deduct whenever they darn well please too! I just helped one of my customers put a stop payment because NetZero pulled $30 from her account 2 days after they had already pulled $9.95! They like to dip their hands in your money. "Beware tech support ripoff!" WARNING! Tech support involves a 900 number that will cost an average of $80 to $100, and I got no help at all and an $89 phone bill. BOGUS!!! "

Your posting is an oxymoron.
You can find both GOOD and also CHEAP ISP's howerver, they will not BOTH be found on the same evaluation form.
You GET........what you will/won't pay for.
pay 300 quid a year...and be thankful you can....BTW....while you're at it...toss an extra five to Max...to keep the DT/MC up and opperating. |

Subject: BS: Finding a good but cheap ISP From: Blackcatter Date: 10 Jun 04 - 05:24 PM Hello all - feel free to have fun with this thread if you wish, But I'm tired of paying AT&T $21.95 a month and I'm having trouble deciding on a new dial-up ISP. Here's what I need: I really need reliability - I'm online at all hours and for many hours. I'm in Florida / U.S. so obviously a company with local numbers. Ease in being able to switch over from my current ISP. ---------------- Is Netzero good and reliable? Netscape has a new service for $9.95, but they charge $2.50 a month more for chargng a debit card (I don't do credit). What about Juno - it the pay service good & reliable. Thanks in advance!
