Thanks for that Breezy I was up late last night and prone to making mistakes without finishing my coffee first. You are correct it was empty handed. Cllr

I think cllr means 'Empty-Handed' when he says 'setting sun'

The old romantic Greek, 'swallows'

Review bedford fok club

Mike Blair kicked off with the tailors breeches and an autumnal ballad, I was lucky enough to do the support doing a three sea song themed set and then John and Nicole started by stunning the room with the Briar and the Rose, alternating between slow balladic and the quirky choppy humerous songs which has become the trademark for Cloudstreet, with fast lyrics and tight close harmonies. El grecko (George Papavgeris) joined them for the Mill and they finished the first set reffering to mikes crossdressing first song by doing famous flower of serving men ( one audience member said that it was the best impression of a fugle horn he had ever heard). After the all too brief interval George did a spot (very unusual for a second spot to be added) and performed a new song written for John and Nicole "swallows" much to the awe of everyone in the audience including Nicole's parents who were there. They trio'ed on George's Setting Sun and then Cloudstreet coontinued featuring sets of tunes superbly laid down by Nicole's deft fluting and John's energised guitar and songs off the new album Fiddleship. They finished with Greenman and the chorus singing from the audience was wonderful. As an encore the did a beautiful show stopping acappela Lay me low which had everyone sbegging for more, a superb evening and we were certainly left up in the clouds. They have just left my place for Paris and we will see them at Warwick next week. Cllr

How do they do it? Every time I hear them the songs are fresh, I enjoy them just as much as the first time. They will be missed.
