Subject: RE: BS: Our Freda is a Gran! ..again!! From: freda underhill Date: 01 May 08 - 07:13 AM hi everyone I'm very happy to say - I'm a gran AGAIN! my lovely daughter Karala (catter Bugface), and her Dutch-Austrian husband Alex have had a beautiful baby boy, Sam, who was born two weeks ago, a very healthy 4kgs. I'm currently with them in their beautiful home in southern Austria, where I've been helping for the last 7 days. There is now on the alps out the window, grass is green, sun is warm and skies are blue. Tomorrow I'LL go back home, on a rather convoluted trip arriving back on Monday. Yes, he's beautiful (he seems to have inherited the family Nose) and his big cousin Rosie (now three) is very pleased and looking forward to meeting him later in the year! love to all freda |

Subject: RE: BS: Our Freda is a Gran! From: freda underhill Date: 12 Oct 04 - 12:44 PM the baby's father, my son in law victor, was an incredible support to my daughter during the labour. he has a lot going for him, (including pixie ears). |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Our Freda is a Gran! From: Ellenpoly Date: 12 Oct 04 - 11:56 AM Peter K (Fionn) You're absolutely right. I was remiss in not mentioning the father, especially if he supplied the pointed elvish ears! But on the day of birth, with all the sympathetic birth pains he may or may not have had...mum does all the work, and baby does her job as well. Gran...well, she's where it all began, and everyone wants to keep in her good graces so she'll be an on-call babysitter. Get some rest now, freda...you're the one who knows best what's down the road! ..xx..e |
|
Subject: RE: BS: Our Freda is a Gran! From: John MacKenzie Date: 12 Oct 04 - 11:47 AM Soon the child will start to make elvish noises! A baby is something that you put things into one end of, and clear up the same but strangely different things from the other end. Babies cannot be fitted with a silencer [muffler] Giok |

Subject: RE: BS: Our Freda is a Gran! From: freda underhill Date: 12 Oct 04 - 09:31 AM thanks again, and even more to all you extra catters who have posted! I got back from another long day at the hospital tonight! how lovely to come and read all these welcome comments! it has been an intense few days - a truly long and painful labour, followed by a caesarian conducted with an anaesthetic that didnt work, despite three attempts. my daughter has endured an exhausting relentless amount of pain, and today is calm, happy and positive, and very much in love with her little Rosie. Rosie apart from being very tiny and delicate has beautiful pixie ears (from her father) with little pointy peaks on them. I feel a little elf has come to visit! ... white haired, shawl-wearing grannie, but not an old one! |

Subject: RE: BS: Our Freda is a Gran! From: freda underhill Date: 11 Oct 04 - 08:50 PM thank you so much, everyone! it was an amazing, incredible experience! after 27 hours of truly hard labour, we have all had a very long sleep, including mother and baby. Rosie is truly beautiful, like a little elf with a cap of dark hair and beautifil big dark blue eyes! (may go brown like her father's!). she is now feeding well and is a little delight! poor chongo, with hands like that, every woman would want you. Kevin, my father used to sing that song! thanks so much, I've been trying to remember the words, and will now be able to sing the song to her! and yesterday, when she was just 20 mins old, I held her and sang quietly to her for an hour while her mother was recovering. I am going to the hospital now! xx freda |
