Cheers, the suggestions you've mentioned are included in what I've already done in some shape or form apart from what you have mentioned Amos as it's a not for profit organisation, however there is bit in there about sustainability, thanks a lot

What do you want to achieve?.......How are you going to achieve it?.........and how do you tell if you are successful or not?............if you have covered those broad themes then to my mind you have a plan. How detailed it is depends on who it is being written for.

It's a US organization, but check out some of the stuff at the Foundation Center in New York (www.foundationcenter.org). Their online tutorials are quite good.

I've got the task of writing a business plan for a voluntary community organisation I work with, So far I've written about what the organisation is involved in at the mo.,done a local community profile, including census information and other stats, what community consultation has been done in the area. Then gone to on to describe what the funding will used for i.e. to recruit staff to run the Community complex (a centre manager, youth worker, admin worker, caretaker & cleaner)Ive also included Key milestones, how the project fits in with local, district & regional strategies, described key partners & their roles, management structures, policies, described what other local provision there is, so to show that there isn't dulpication going on, done start up costs, cash flow forecast, sources of funding, risk factors and monitoring systems, but I STILL FEEL IT'S NOT COMPLETE, anyone got any suggestions.
