I found a more complete description of the soundtrack here. It lists several songs/tunes, but I can't tell which one might be the one you want. Anyway, it indicates there was a soundtrack album, but it's probably now out of print: Varese Sarabande CD VSD-70470, 1988 (US) or That's Entertainment Records CDTER 116, 1989 (UK). The soundtrack listing at imdb.com shows only 4 items:

"The Devil's Right Hand", written by Steve Earle, performed by Waylon Jennings

"Mars and Venus", written by John Philip Sousa, performed by The New Sousa Band conducted by Keith Brion

"The Race Is On", written by Don Rollins

"If You Wanna Get To Heaven", written by Steve Cash & John Dillon, performed by The Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

You might be able to find sound samples of these songs at allmusic.com or at a website that sells CDs, such as Barnes & Noble or Amazon.com.

I don't know about the camp-scene song, but at the end over the closing credits they played The Devil's Right Hand (great song) which is by Steve Earle. So perhaps it might be another of his?

Somewhere lurking in a hidden box I have the videotape of this film, but I moved house and haven't been able to find ANYthing for months. If and when I manage to dig it out I'll resurrect this thread if no one manages to answer the question (bet somebody will, though, knowing Catters).

The only thing I was able to find on google was the composer for the film was Bill Conti, by the looks of it, a BIG name among movie composers. If you heard any of the words or knew the tune, one of us would know it for sure. If someone doesn't recall it from having seen it, maybe one of us will rent it and see what we can get of it.:-)

Hi Everyone,
There was a film called "betrayed" with Debra Winger and Tom Barenger. At a certain point they go camping with members of their movment in Montana. At night a beautiful song is played in one of the tents at the camp. The words are not clear, as it is the background of a dialoug, but it sounds like a simple western-folk kind of a song. does anyone know which song was it and where can I get the lyrics?
