I'm still amazed at the liberal/radical image Howard Dean has elsewhere. He was considered borderline Republican here in VT. He never did that sort of scream here in his 11 years as Gov. Even if the establishment Dems are worried about his scream (which doesn't worry me a whole lot, having never heard it in his native habitat) I'm somewhat concerned that none of them are picking up on that grass roots message. Do they want to harrow their base and keep losing?

"The scream" was uttered in a raucous room full of jubilant supporters who probably didn't hear it, even amplified over their own joyful noises. This was not as much fun to report, however. It is more fun, perhaps, to remember it as a moment of lunacy. But it most certainly was not. Remember that Karl Rove indicated early on that he was much more afraid of having to run against Dean than against Kerry.

If Dean is NOT chosen to lead the party, I may follow through on my threat to leave the "Republican lite" party, after all. If the Dems will not represent me, why should I be there?

Like I've said many times Cruiser, the best way to beat the Repubs is to paint a much different vision for the country. Howard Dean, John Conyers and Dennis Kucinich are about the only Dems who are doing that.

If one wants to call that vision liberal, fine... Who cares?... If yer running against Karl Rove yer going to get branded one so you might as well be one.

Bush-Lite ain't gonna win nuthin' except 2nd place finishes for ever...

Besides Mr. Bush, the main reason I have a problem with my Party is the religious zealotry. Other than that, my Republican philosophical views clash diametrircally with those in the Democratic Party.   

Sans the right-wing fanatics, I want to remain a Republican.

I watched the entire program. Dean made more sense to me now than when he was running his campaign.

I also was VERY pleased at the second half of the show, wherein the military "shakers and movers" seem to be admitting that things are not going well in IRAQ. And "they" did lay out a huge warning ... get ready for a draft in two years. At least that's how read there comments. CHEERS, Bob

I saw the interview. I hope the folks who vote will consider him seriously as DNC chair. He is serious about re-building the party at the grass roots, esp. in states that went for GOP. Like he says, there aren't red states & blue states-- they're all different shades of purple.
