Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat suggestion - a 'not' filter From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 27 Mar 05 - 03:59 PM What's the point? There might arguably be some point in being able to filter out certain people's posts, so people didn't have to scroll past them, if they knew they woudln't wish to read them, but when it comes to thread titles, the most effective and flexible filter is surely yourself. I've discovered that, unless you actually click on the thread title, they never seem to open. Doesn't it work like that for everyone? |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat suggestion - a 'not' filter From: GUEST,Jon Date: 27 Mar 05 - 03:53 PM You can't combine search terms with boolean operators using the forum filter. I think it runs a query on the lines of I'm not sure how you could do that here. I think the Verity Supersearch does accept boolean expressions but that searches message bodies not titles. |

Subject: RE: BS: Mudcat suggestion - a 'not' filter From: Mr Red Date: 27 Mar 05 - 03:36 PM but is it boolean? If I select BS I still want to eliminate a few others. Search for UK and you would have a lot over the last year. I use the IE find but it is a poor substitute. |

Subject: BS: Mudcat suggestion - a 'not' filter From: Mr Red Date: 27 Mar 05 - 05:23 AM so we can weed out Shatner threads or a WS prefix/section (As in Willam Shatner) It would work for threads with any common word |
