I too like our Bob Bolton better than Bush's John Bolton. But now I am even more sure of it, having seen this series of clips from his infamous "there is no UN" speech. I had read this stuff, but somehow the black-and-white version didn't convey just how horribly, how incredibly usacentric his (and apparently his handlers') position is. I'm not even dead yet, and I'm already turning in my grave listening to him!

Pass this around to your Republican acquaintances. Maybe some of them will wake up. No, not you, DougR.

Our BOB Bolton is indeed a fine fellow, and a collector and player of Australian bellows instruments and their tunes.

Good people, please, do NOT confuse Bob Bolton here at Mudcat with this other Bolton slimeball snake-in-the-grass.

Joe - I put that in about the biggest church because I'd just been reading about the Cardinals not being able to agree on the new Pontiff.. They don't usually take this long to decide... it's been amost a week, and it's usually over in 3-4 days.

We all have one day on which to choose a leader for our countries with usually 4-6 weeks warning. The Catholic church had known its leader was unwell for several years. Did no-one think about it beforehand?

That's right, Liz - Christians don't agree. Most Christians are NOT fundamentalists, and don't want anything to do with fundamentalists. So, yes, there are some extreme differences among Christians.

What's this? -
The biggest Christian Church in the world can't even agree on who should lead it at the moment.....
- of course not - they haven't had the election yet (if they go past ten ballots, then maybe it's fair to say they can't agree). And tiny little England certainly isn't unanimous in their support of Tony Bush Blair as leader. And the USA certainly isn't unanimous in support of Blair's twin brother George.

I think it's a sign of health if we aren't all rigidly unanimous.

I HOPE the majority of Christians wake up and see these guys for what they are!

Great sentiments but alas, if you put two Christians in a room together, they'd end up arguing about something... heck, the established Church has been doing it for centuries, that's why we have so many different varieties of faith groups all claiming to be Christian and all having so many different attitudes to each other. The biggest Christian Church in the world can't even agree on who should lead it at the moment.....

Of course, Doug. You know perfectly well that this Bolton item is being planted in hopes of DESTROYING the United Nations Organisation.
That is exactly what the USA is aiming for---either the destruction or the "americanisation" [as per the visions of the neo-con ratpack]of the U.N. They can never forgive the worldwide opposition to their clumsily concocted "justification" for the attack on Iraq.
Tonic? Some tonic! And, yes---he does have some reputation for "ass-kicking". Almost exclusively little asses, though----

And now they are working more for religious cleansing, too: click here.

I hope in a way that he goes on with his plan as that MIGHT wake up a few more people to the dangers of this admin. I HOPE the majority of Christians wake up and see these guys for what they are!

And the USA who did so much to undermine the UN - both by not paying its dues, then the Iraq fiasco - now wants the UN to be its bully boy, just like the World Bank.

Bolton will be just the tonic the UN needs. Perhaps he will kick some ass around there and the UN might finally shape up or ship out. The Oil for Food program has turned out to be a total disgrace to the UN, and "Coffee Aron" wants to brush it off as though nothing was wrong. The whole UN needs to be reorganized. As it is, it is worthless in my opinion of course.

Henchmen deserve their just rewards. Just like Catherine Harris is now a US Congressman. One thing George Bush has learned is that if you don't feed your Goerings and Himmlers they are likely to feast on you.

However some henchmen are are unredeemable. Poindexter's failure at DARPA comes to mind.

Bolton is known for fireing anyone who insisted upon telling the truth about the phony reasons for war. He fired people who did not lie under orders from the administration.

The overall strategy of plundering the United States for great personal gain is treasonous for some and patriotic to others.
The Republican accounting scam machine will be able to hold off a great reckoning with inflation and depression for another 3 to 7 years by lying and falsifying figures under threat of extortion or death.

After that the nation's economy will resemble the Enron collapse. Thats when the Republican party will be "happy" to hand the mess over to Democrats who will have the job of trying to raise tax money to keep the country afloat and deal with the imbalance of trade, lack of manufacturing and collapse of the : dollar, medicare, stock market and real estate values. The mega recession will be blamed on the Democrats to set up a return to Reppublican power once the mess is cleaned up enough to pillage again.

But do not fear, the Bob Boltons will still do OK inside their gated communities.

If the Republicans are still in charge after the big bill of the US comes due, their strategy is to deal with the resulting social unrest with weapons and quarantine. What might be known as ethnic cleansing program elswhere will be called something like a cultural purity drive in the US.

In such a future a holocaust will be called God's will, be biological in nature and be extremely swift in comparison to 1940.

These strategies for subjugating the masses has worked in the past on indian populations, the Scotch Irish in Appalachia, the Jews of Europe, Mao's China and the peoples of Africa. There is no reason to think it would not be effective in the US.

These policies will need a hard nose character like Bob Bolton to spread the bull and bulldoze the people.
