Subject: RE: BS: shhh.... From: Bill D Date: 21 Apr 05 - 08:09 PM ".. we can't talk about this unless we find a way to blame the US....." Why? Why even say that? Myanmar is quite a problem, but I don't see why the issue has to be PHRASED in a way that suggests the US is part of it. |

Subject: RE: BS: shhh.... From: John O'L Date: 21 Apr 05 - 07:58 PM "The British Foreign Office said it was concerned by the allegations and would examine any evidence." Everything's under control then. Nothing to be concerned about. |

Subject: RE: BS: shhh.... From: Shanghaiceltic Date: 21 Apr 05 - 07:56 PM Myanmar is a part of the ASEAN group which includes a number of fledgling democracies, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, as well as mature ones like Australia. Every time the issue of Myanmar has been raised it has been blocked by countries like China as well as Malaysia on the basis that they do not want to interfere with the internal politics of a sovreign nation. Cannot blame the US for this only the countries of this region who will not face up to what is happening on their own door step because it would open a whole can of worms for many of their own governments. |
