After following the thread on the song sung on the Sharp Rifles series would you believe that the song in sung in the film the Beggar's Opera 1952 with Sir Lawrence Olivier, Stanley Holloway, Dorothy Tutin and directed by Peter Block. Same tune, and chorus only different words in the verses. Wonders never cease.
