Subject: RE: Tune Req: 'My Valentine' (Thomas Deloney) From: Malcolm Douglas Date: 03 Jul 05 - 07:45 PM I can't find anything in the usual places, either. There are plenty of tunes and songs, no doubt, with "my valentine" in their titles; but nothing pre-1600 presents itself. |

Subject: RE: Tune Req: 'My Valentine' (Thomas Deloney) From: Mick Pearce (MCP) Date: 03 Jul 05 - 07:40 PM On a quick look the tune doesn't appear to be in Simpson and Greg Lindahl's 16th Century Ballads site also doesn't seem to have the tune. There is an extensive entry on Deloney there and the text of the Garland Of Goodwill is given along with notes for the songs. Sadly there appears to be no note entry for Part 1, No 9 - your song!
