I miss his big, warm hugs! All Mudcatters are welcome, of course, as always. Love, Annamill |

Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Charlie Baum Date: 21 Oct 05 - 10:17 AM Ramblewood has promised to put the gazing ball in the garden at the top of the hill near the entrance, near to the anatomically correct whirligigs that currently spin in the wind up there. --Charlie Baum |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: jacqui.c Date: 20 Oct 05 - 10:37 PM catsPhiddle came shopping with Mary and me today and can attest to the fact that Ms SINSULL has no limits when it comes to gathering tacky items. I remember the purchase of the gazing ball, by the aforesaid lady, at a yard sale where she also bought a singing lobster and various other goodies of dubious taste. Once she has these ideas in her head it is mighty difficult to persuade her otherwise, althougha stern 'no' or a long suffering look do sometimes work. We're getting to work on next year, anyway. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: SINSULL Date: 20 Oct 05 - 10:40 AM The wooden crate is mine too. The gazing ball is Jacqui's. I tried to talk her out of it. Hope ramblewood can use it for more than target practice. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Charlie Baum Date: 20 Oct 05 - 10:15 AM The videotape is probably Sinsull's--it's of Kendall Morse storytelling at the Rockport Festival. --Charlie Baum |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Celtaddict Date: 19 Oct 05 - 11:58 PM Charlie, or whoever is finishing up auction business, please PM me or use the e-mail address I used as contact on the auction sheets, and I will send address and $$ for shipping. Thanks. And could someone please let Lorcan know about that videotape? |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Charlie Baum Date: 19 Oct 05 - 11:57 PM I've noted that the Aegean sailors cap, Skarpi CD and video are Sinsulls (Lorcan--the vIdeo was in the same container with the other two items, and is threfore probably Sinsull's)--Sinsull--is the wooden crate yours also? Big Mick claims his towel. Sue Matthieu claimed her coffee mug in an e-mail. The Glass Gazing ball was too large and delicate to take home, soit has been donated to Ramblewood. The "love" mug that plays a tune when you pick it up--I made someone else take it home because it started to play when I picked it up and wouldn't stop, and I couldn't bear to listen to it all the way back to DC--if I had to take it, it would have driven me crazy and I would have heaved it all over the highway someplace well before Baltimore, so I'll have to get it back. The panty hose went to a good home. CeltAddict--you were silent auction high bidder on the fleece purple/turquoise reversible jacket and the Scold's Bride CD. Beardedbruce--you were high bidder on the 6-cd carrier, but I think (and hope) it went home with your sister along with the leftover ginger. There were a couple of other CDs in that batch that I have to get back and redistribute (Carly--if you're reading this, I'll get them from you at the Dave and Anni concert). I'm still recovering from the weekend, complicated by the Jewish holiday of Sukkot which has kept me incommunicado for a couple of days since then. --Charlie Baum |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: InOBU Date: 19 Oct 05 - 11:49 PM Whoops, I left a white concert grand piano with 14 carot gold and black pearl keys someplace at the gathering, I forget what building it was in... maybe the tennis court? lor |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Dani Date: 19 Oct 05 - 11:00 PM Amos, that'll teach you for bringing any dignity to the Getaway after reading the pre-game posts. And, let's all remember Charlie's words of wisdom learned over previous Getaways: "either leave better stuff, or less of it". Dani |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Tinker Date: 19 Oct 05 - 10:42 PM .....wee fairie from North Jersey..... Now I know I refused wings on that costume. I wasn't even in the state of Maine long enough to do any serious shopping. At best I sat in on a few focus group discussions... Okay I did give Kendall Heartfrog, but that's an unrelated incident... |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Sorcha Date: 19 Oct 05 - 10:13 PM Ya, and the gold gazing ball left in the main room of the dining hall is Sinsull's too. I wanted it, but couldn't get it home.... |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: GUEST,SINSULL Date: 19 Oct 05 - 10:08 PM I tried. I really tried. But there was barely room in my car for all the passengers. In fact, while Kendall's back was turned I stuck two bags and a pile of crap in his car. No room for those books. SIGH! Next year, Bruce. Meantime, thank you for the ginger, I think. Despite myself I have developed a taste for it. Meanitme I have tallied my missing items: 1 Greek fisherman's cap, 1 Skarpi CD, and 1 video. Possibly 1 El Greko CD. Charlie, I will pay for shipping. Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: KT Date: 19 Oct 05 - 09:31 PM Beardedbruce, I'm sorry to say that I don't know the name of the place, but your lovely sister Carly said that you are the one who introduced her to it. I found that delightful since it was such a cool little store. Lots of old time penny candy and fun toys. By the way, bruce, your ears might have been ringing while we were in there. We agreed that you are a very gernerous person. Thanks for that and for all you seemed to do for others all weekend. KT |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Amos Date: 19 Oct 05 - 08:15 PM Mick, there's a big green spot on the greensward down to Balboa Park has your name on it. First window of opportunity is October 30th. Our spare bedroom is in disarray due to a recent flood from a hose connector that burst, but even in disarray it is a tad less rustic than that mattress you fell off of at Ramblewood!! LOL A |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Ebbie Date: 19 Oct 05 - 07:00 PM "huape", perhaps? Mick, there are not many more appealing - not to say, appalling- pictures burnt into my memory than of you clutching to your bosom the soon to be beloved Koko. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Big Mick Date: 19 Oct 05 - 05:32 PM Based on what I saw, there is plenty of culpability (Howzzat fer a werd, Pa?????) to go around. And you were ably abetted by the wee fairie from North Jersey. Amos ....... Bobert ......... I sincerely hope we get a chance to play music together prior to next years gathering........ Be afraid. With much love, affection, and fond memories, Mick, KOKO, and the kids (wait, that's for goats. What do we call we half simian, half humans??????) |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: jacqui.c Date: 19 Oct 05 - 05:07 PM OK lady, who tried to talk WHO out of buying crap? Trust me, guys, if SINSULL had had her way we would have needed U-Haul to take all the stuff to Ramblewood and she would still be dishing it out. Contrary to Mary Sunshine's comments I was the voice of reason on those shopping trips. Now for next year...... (Sorry about the thread creep) |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Amos Date: 19 Oct 05 - 02:25 PM Well, there's no disputing taste, but as I said in the other thread, Sinsull's AIM is impeccable. Now, if I can get a special theatrical presentation on a Temple theme, I will not only come next year, but bring several of the fraternal order with me, as they will be able to write it off as a a religous convocation. With good reason, I might add -- it isn't everyday you get to seriously find out what it is like to die and go to heaven. It would have to be a bit more...revelatory... than Mick's amazing Girls Show, which had me rolling on the theater floor. But, hey, you got 359 days to work up to it!!! :D One thing I have lost from this trip, which Charlie is sur enot gonna find for me, is whatever shred of dignity I may have once had in these parts. However, that is a loss worth bearing. A |

Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: SINSULL Date: 19 Oct 05 - 01:21 PM I tried to talk Jacqui out of that "I Love You" heart. In fact, given that all that crap ended up in my basement so Kendall couldn't see exactly what Jacqui was up to, I tried to talk her out of most of it and failed. Now I get a reputation for having no taste. Anyone who has been to my home knows of my impeccable good atste - not a typo. Even the pink/purple/red color scheme was Jacqui's idea...although I did have something to do with the upside down red hat with high heeled shoes for feet. And the Horrible Heart Frog, complete with "Achy Breaky Heart" theme song, insipidly cute dance, and tacky glow in the dark heart shaped guitar is JACQUI's! My dancing, singing, glowing, spinning doodads have real character. Just ask Spaw. Now the real question here is why is Amos baiting the fair SINSULL? Did he feel neglected? Was he disappointed not to receive a fuzzy toy or a Dance of the Golden Globes? Poor man. He has just moved himself to the top of the Toy Boy Abuse List for next year's Getaway. Poignant Personality, indeed! The Evil Twins are now forced to show their true colors. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: jacqui.c Date: 19 Oct 05 - 12:38 PM Sins didn't own such a thing. She was merely the bearer of very bad news Mick - it belongs to YOU! Heartfrog is about 8" tall, green and carrying a guitar. He sings Achy Breaky Heart when you press his hand with an amazing vibratto at the end of the rendition. As he has not, as yet, completed his mission to cuddle up to more Mudcat ladies than Kendall we would appreciate it if a photo diary of his further travels could be kept. If you can't get him to other Mudcatters then please pm me for a return address. Otherwise the poor little guy will be pining for the attention that he so richly deserves. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: GUEST,KT Date: 19 Oct 05 - 12:34 PM Ebbie, Carly and I stopped for lunch and made a quick dash into a wonderful store. Lots of very cool toys and TONS of tacky stuff!! I said over and over again, "We should get this for SINSULL for next year!" |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Big Mick Date: 19 Oct 05 - 12:30 PM What does Heart Frog look like? I have this creature that looks like a heart with ears, and it says "I love you" when you press the wee belly. It is tacky. I can't believe Sins would own such a thing. Mick |

Leadfingers gave ma a real glass to drink my Jamesons out of, I wrote all over it in black permanent marker, then set it down somewhere. Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Liz the Squeak Date: 19 Oct 05 - 02:24 AM Well I'm sorry, but Micca going on about Sinsulls lack of good taste... that is surely the kettle lecturing the pot in cleanliness..... Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: KT Date: 18 Oct 05 - 11:55 PM Mary, did you ever find the quilt you sent my way? I never did see it. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Amos Date: 18 Oct 05 - 11:34 PM Charlie: My Skarpi CD has been found -- in my camera case, naturally! :D So the one you found is Sinsull's, I guess. A |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: SINSULL Date: 18 Oct 05 - 11:25 PM My Skarpi CD is among the missing too. But my stuff is scattered throughout my house, car and Kendall's car. It may just need to be excavated. I recovered my quilt and pillow missing since last year's Getaway but had to leave them at Tinker's - no room at the inn. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Amos Date: 18 Oct 05 - 10:38 PM Excuse me, but Sinsull;s SOGT was picked from her mother's pocket when she was but a seedling, and as a sad result she was forced to be born without one altogether. She compensated from an early age by developing other charms to a maximal extent including her poignant personality. And a couple of others. But G/T is not on the list!! :D Fortunately she is well loved anyway! A |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: jimmyt Date: 18 Oct 05 - 10:11 PM I enjoyed looking at the Flutes, Micca but only from the inside out! Looking up throught the empty glass was a grand experience..or maybe it was the champaigne! |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: GUEST,Micca Date: 18 Oct 05 - 10:06 PM I Think SINSULL may have lost (or temporarily misplaced) her sense of Good Taste!! h=Have you SEEN Those Wedding Champagne Flutes??? |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Maryrrf Date: 18 Oct 05 - 06:50 PM Charlie I think it's very disturbing about your jacket. I felt so comfortable at the Getaway, leaving my guitar outside the dining hall (as many others did), setting my pack down and not paying much attention to it... and very much letting my guard down. Awful to think that there was a thief among us. I still keep hoping somebody will get home and unpack, find that it had gotten mixed up with their stuff somehow, and send it back to you. Well I'm glad you have your car keys, at least. By the way, it was a pleasure meeting you and you sure know a lot of great songs. |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Ferrara Date: 18 Oct 05 - 04:51 PM beardedbruce, your sonnets notebook was in the crafts/silent auction area. It's at our house. Charley, we have always felt that Getaways were an extremely safe environment. However, last year or the year before, our 4 foot long heater, which we always used in the TV room for late night singing, was missing on Monday morning. Bill had put it in the Silent Auction room the night before. Sigh.... If I have to start paying attention to where my stuff is at Getaways, I'm in big trouble. I try to make the rounds every evening and pick up everything I've abandoned during the day but lots of years Charlie hands me a stack of stuff on Monday that I've left here and there during the weekend. |

Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Amos Date: 18 Oct 05 - 11:27 AM I think the Skarpi CD is mine. I'd hate to lose it -- it musta fallen out of my guitar case or sompn. A |
Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Lost and Found From: Charley Noble Date: 18 Oct 05 - 11:23 AM The orange LL Bean boat jacket is still missing, has not turned up in my various bags, backpacks, instrument cases or whatever. The last time I saw it was in the dining hall on the back of the chair where I was having breakfast Sunday morning. Then I went charging up the hill to the Parody Workshop. Oddly enough after we announced the loss of the coat and the fact that my car keys were in it, the car keys resurfaced on the dinning room floor. This is not a great loss, neither in sentiment nor value but it is annoying. I hate to be reminded that I need to be more careful when I'm attending festivals and other special events; some of the things I carry with me are less replaceable. Charley Noble |
