In Melbourne George the tradional occupation for Greek immigrants is taxi driving. Although I suppose a lift is a vertical version of a horizontal occupation to paraphrase GBS.

I will also be in Melbourne from the 1st to 20th of April, I'll
have the guitar, but I'm not too bothered about doing gigs, mainly
a family visit, if you get somewhere lined up to play I'll try and get along.

These is also a great folk scene outside Melbourne, Danny Spooner & a lot of great folks live a few hours out of Melbourne.

I am due to play in Melbourne on 12th April, however that is a private gig not open to the public, and I have a number of friends & ex-colleagues living in the area who would like to come and hear me. I did have a normnal gig planned for the 11th as well, but arrangements for that fell through.

Does anyone know of any links that might help me stage an open gig in the area on the 11th April - perhaps a house concert or something?
