Subject: RE: seeking a recording heard at Chipotle From: clueless don Date: 20 Mar 06 - 04:14 PM open mike asked "background info on Chipotle's grills--does any one know if they are a subsidiary of some other big fast food chain (such as a burger joint?)" I have heard that Chipotle is owned by McDonald's. I can't tell you exactly where I heard it. I believe that McDonald's also owns (or at least used to own) the Boston Market chain. Doesn't make any difference to me if Chipotle *is* owned by McDonald's - my whole family likes the food. Don |

Subject: RE: seeking a recording heard at Chipotle From: clueless don Date: 20 Mar 06 - 02:04 PM Thank you so much, WYSIWYG! Going to the various links you provided, the version by the 5.6.7.8's sounds more like what I heard than the version by the Rock-A-Teens. Perhaps the Chipotle folks picked it up off of the "Kill Bill" soundtrack (which could possibly also explain why it isn't available among their sound samples.) Woo hoo! Don |

Subject: RE: seeking a recording heard at Chipotle From: wysiwyg Date: 20 Mar 06 - 12:03 PM :~) Also see: http://pulverblog.pulver.com/archives/001505.html Excerpts from the above: Whatever you wish to call it, it is a standard 12 bar blues piece, with a very simple melody. At any rate, I have written it out in the original and transposed for standard jazz band - rather fun for students to learn to improvise to something familiar. ....the song is called woo hoo it's by The Rock*A*Teens. It was featured in the movie Pecker by John Waters in 1998 ... Are you guys crazy? This is a classic blues riff called " Boogie Woogie", the music is the blues riff, thats been around since the late 1930's, but the ones on the song added " Woo hoo a woo hoo hoo" ... I did an album called "SHINING KNIGHT" in 1986 released worldwide and copyrighted. The First Song on my album features the chant "WOO HOO WOO HOO," I wonder if I have a claim for copyright infringement?? ... The name of the song is not "Yoo Hoo". The name of the song is "Woo Hoo". It is from the movie Kill Bill and it is by the 5,6,7,8's. ... The Vonage song is called Yoo Hoo by the 5 6 7 8's off of the movie Kill Bill ~S~ |

Subject: seeking a recording heard at Chipotle From: clueless don Date: 20 Mar 06 - 11:54 AM Hello mudcatters! The Chipotle restaurant chain constantly has an eclectic mix of music playing in the background at their restaurants (this is in the USA - don't know about East of the pond.) I am looking for one particular recording that I have heard several times there. It starts with a fairly fast walking bass progression. Then, a fairly high-pitched voice comes in and starts singing "Woo Hoo! Woo Hoo Hoo!" along with the progression. That's pretty much all there is to it - I don't believe there are any actual lyrics. I am not sure which genre this falls under - blues? cajun? zydeco? To my ear, it does have a "rootsy" feel (which, I believe, makes it grist for the mudcat forum.) I have gone to the official Chipotle site and listened to all of the song samples there - none of them is the one I am seeking. I also sent a message to Chipotle, but have not heard back. Does this ring any bells? Don |
