I want to remind everybody again about Jerry Epstein's concert, this coming Sunday, August 13th at 1PM in Sparrowbush,NY. Our host, John Ziv is expecting a nice size crowd from the response he has gotten thus far. John has also asked everyone to bring along their instruments as well. Following Jerry's concert their will be a barbecue, during which there will be a circle sing-a-round so that everyone can contribute to the day's festivities. I really enjoy this venue very much. This will be my second year in attendance.

Will Jerry be coming over to the UK again this year? I enjoyed his performance last year at the singaround in Commondale, part of the Folk on the Moors festival. He told a story there as well as singing.

Those of you who are interested in pure traditional folk music are in for a real treat. Jerry Epstein will be giving a special house concert on Sunday afternoon, August 13th at the home of John Ziv and Deborah Rubin, located at 549- Route 97, Sparrowbush, NY 12780. For the un-familiar, Sparrowbush is located 5 miles north of Port Jervis on the scenic Hawks Nest Drive (Rte. 97) overlooking the Delaware River. The concert is called for 1 PM and the price will be $10 per person (children under 10 free). It includes a light barbecue. All proceeds will go to the performer. Jerry Epstein is no stranger to the world of folk music. He is widely known for his powerful voice and traditional singing style. He is also a scholar and a master player of the English Concertina. Jerry is on the board of directors and a founding member of the Pinewoods Folk Music Club of NY. For information, please call John Ziv at 845-858-7890 or e-mail him at [e-mail]. Those who want to come from NYC by public transportation can take the Short Line bus from Port Authority to Port Jervis or the NJ Transit-Metro North train from Hoboken (Port Jervis Line).
