Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: Chief Chaos Date: 16 May 06 - 12:24 PM Just heard from a long time Florida resident. He says that Jeb would be a perfect replacement for G.W. on account of the fact that he already knows that the constitution doesn't apply to him. |

Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: Chief Chaos Date: 15 May 06 - 10:19 AM Yes, that's the same thought I had. If GW sees that the country may be in jeopardy if it is allowed to vote for Democrats, then he might just suspend the two term limit and stay in office or install Jeb. Fun: In a recent pole 70% of America picked Bill Clinton as a better President than G.W. |
Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: harpmolly Date: 14 May 06 - 12:23 PM OK, correct me if I'm wrong, but...hmmm...an administration that considers itself exempt from the Constitution and able to act with complete carte blanche...and now they are proposing to put forth a third member of the same family in less than twenty years to run the country. Hmmm... When did our democratic republic turn into a not-so-constitutional monarchy? (At least the Brits know better than to let their monarchs actually *run the country* anymore...) I could stand the Bushes in power if all they had to do was sit in the motorcade and wave. And I'm sure Georgie would look STUNNING in the Queen Mother's pearls. ;) Molly (getting a bit nervous) |
Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: Bunnahabhain Date: 14 May 06 - 04:42 AM How about a campaign by the Democrats to use paper and pencil votes at the next possible election? If people are too stupid to understand Put a cross next to the person you are voting for. If you make a mistake, take your vote to the desk, and ask for a new one. , then they are clearly too stupid to be allowed to cars, guns, or alything else you wouldn't trust a toddler with... |

Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: Stringsinger Date: 13 May 06 - 04:31 PM Dianavan, I think it's possible that he would be nominated. If so, the Bush legacy of division and rancor would continue. There are not a lot of Dems who would support a nomination like this and if the issue of voter fraud is not addressed in this country, Jeb might well make it. Diebold, E.S.and S., Sequoia and other Republican leaning corporations that are mechanizing the voting process might very well wind up stealing the 2008 elections as they did in 2000 and 2004. I don't know when the American public will awaken to find that their votes have been compromised by these machines. It might be too late. If the current policy continues and the country is in more debt (trillions) and the Euro overtakes the Dollar in oil, it might not make any difference who is elected. If we are all investigated because of our political views, the Bush legacy might continue through intimidation. When the American public awakens may be the turning point in what happens to our country. Frank Hamilton |
Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: frogprince Date: 13 May 06 - 03:49 PM At least Jeb should have the support of the brain-dead. Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: dianavan Date: 13 May 06 - 04:27 AM When dubya first announced his intention to run for president, I wondered why it was GW and not Jeb. It seemed logical that Jeb would be a better choice. He was definitely smarter, had more political savvy and was, generally, more suitable. Now, the idea seems diabolical. It wouldn't surprise me if Jeb was elected. In fact, with Diebold running the show, I'd say count on it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: freda underhill Date: 13 May 06 - 03:15 AM I remember when it was first suggested that Dubya would make a good President - it seemed a totally laughable idea and yet he got up there. 'Tell you a story 'bout a man named Jeb...' |
Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: The Fooles Troupe Date: 13 May 06 - 02:36 AM "IBM was another international company" etc To be reasonably fair, while not getting overly hysterical in hindsight, many people and companies dealt with the Nazis at first - even members of the British Royal Family were supportive to various degrees. Almost nobody before 1939 really believed that Hitler was THAT insane - "Yes, we all hate the Jews, but, seriously now, NO ONE in their right mind would ever try to KILL THEM ALL!" Based on what his government did in the first few years in power while building up the military, Hitler COULD have become a positive icon of history, if he hadn't been insane and obsessed with eliminating an ethnic group. If all the resources he wasted on that 'game' had been directed into the military, things might have been different there too, if only he could have let competent trained military men run the war... He DID build good roads and made trains run on time (sorry, that was Mussolini!), but after the end of the war, even those who thought he had been doing a good job 'overall'%%% could not run far enough away from him, just like MartFartyArseFirst's previous supporters now... Now Jeb looks like a good guy - us Aussies have never heard anything bad about him, in fact we've heard NOTHING about him at all, so he must be alright... %%%Apart from THAT, Mrs Lincoln... |

Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: Bunnahabhain Date: 12 May 06 - 03:31 PM It is just possible that someone in the Republican party has worked out that the name 'Bush' might just possibly be a slight electoral liability, roughly eqivilent to to having 'shot me now' tattoed across your forehead down a backstreet in Baghdad... Of course, there has to be a credabile alternative canidate, or I could quite see him being chosed regardless. |
Subject: RE: BS: Jeb Bush for President From: Chief Chaos Date: 12 May 06 - 11:18 AM Last night CNN ran a segment with viewer responses to the question "Would you like to see Jeb Bush as president?"
