Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Washington Medley (Derivative Duo) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 29 Mar 16 - 01:00 AM I have at least one CD of yours, my father bought at a concert (he lived in Marysville, was a folksinger active with Seattle Song Circle). And I've shared it with friends who thought it was marvelous. Haven't listened to it in ages, though. I'm pretty sure it was the opera one. Drop in again! |

Do you still want the lyrics to outr "Northwest Medley" (or I Left My Heart in Sedro Wooley)? I don't understand this site but it's cool. Barb |

Subject: Lyr Req: Derivative Duo Washington Medley From: Haruo Date: 30 May 06 - 02:09 AM Mrs. Haruo (as she prefers I refer to her online) and I finally made it to NW Folklife late this afternoon, and the first act we caught was one of Washington State's great lesbian acts, The Derivative Duo. They have performed at 20 consecutive Folklifes, but they announced to our, and general, regret that this would be their last, that they are retiring. Although opera is not exactly folk, I suppose, I was greatly surprised not to find them mentioned in SuperSearch here at the Mudcat. Anyhow, we purchased both of their CDs, Opera for the Masses: and Mutiny at the Matinee: But what I'm actually looking for here is the lyrics to a "Washington State Medley" they sang today that's not on either CD. The first part was "I left my heart in Sedro-Woolley", and the second part of the medley was about Puyallup. It was hilarious. Also, "Mamm'ries". Aside from those two, I think the whole set was on the records; I've marked those I believe they sang today with asterisks above. Haruo |
