Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Jeri Date: 16 Jul 06 - 05:46 PM Joe, I have one that helps me load stuff faster. The way it does this is to compress* certain files, such as graphics. I can pretty much control this or turn it off (which I do when I want to look at photos), but most of the time, it really does work. *not sure if this is exactly correct, or weather the accelorator simply downloads SOME bytes, not all. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Joe Offer Date: 16 Jul 06 - 05:17 PM I'm on MSN, so I have to log onto the Internet with the MSN browser, and then I use the MSN browser to check news and local weather. Then I log off, but keep the connection alive, and use Firefox, which i prefer. The Mudcat graphics and other graphics are fine with firefox, but they've recently become fuzzy on the MSN browser. Does Jeri's theory apply to me, that my MSN browser may have an accelerator that is blurring the graphics? Guess I'd better try to figure out how to turn the dang thing off, eh? -Joe- |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: wysiwyg Date: 16 Jul 06 - 02:09 PM Oh, NOT the banjo? 1. Yes, it's always been a little fuzzy, 2. but I don't see a difference today. 3. I'm on a wide, good-quality monitor. 4. I agree wholheartedly that Giok is especially special. ~Susan |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Jeri Date: 16 Jul 06 - 02:01 PM You are. Very, very special. Seriously, the logo in the Help Forum is different than the one here, so maybe it really ISN'T you. Well, it's you, just in a 'different' sort of way instead of a 'stark raving' sort of way. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: John MacKenzie Date: 16 Jul 06 - 01:58 PM Well I must be special, that's all I can say. G |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: wysiwyg Date: 16 Jul 06 - 01:48 PM Looks sharp, as always at this size. Biggifying it fuzzifies it. ~S~ |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Jeri Date: 16 Jul 06 - 01:43 PM What threw me off was 'blue' the fish is blue. No, the water the fish is jumping out of is blue, but it's got blue in it. Icon, no logo - whoops. The Mudcat logo is green. Well, it's 'teal'. It's not fuzzy though. Giok, if you have a web accelerator, that would explain it. If you don't, and you don't have large smudges on your glasses or are wearing them upside down or backwards, and they aren't somebody else's glasses, and if the REST of reality isn't fuzzy like the logo, I don't know what to say. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: bobad Date: 16 Jul 06 - 12:30 PM Thanks Giok, I did a search and came up with this: Subject: RE: Where can I get a Mudcat Logo ? From: Max - PM Date: 23 Feb 02 - 02:37 PM I have a very high res version of the logos. Anyone who contacts via email, I'll send a copy. The kid who drew the Mudcat was our neighbor. We gave him free access to the courses we were offering at the time, a $700 value. He gave me the design, and all rights to it. He drew the line drawing, I believe black ink on white paper. I digitized it, moved the fish a bit, and colored it. |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: bobad Date: 16 Jul 06 - 12:00 PM Jeri Your post about the logo made me curious about the origin of this Mudcat logo. Can you provide info about who/how it came about? |

Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Rapparee Date: 16 Jul 06 - 11:38 AM Besides, it might be a rare furry catfish. |
|
Subject: RE: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Rapparee Date: 16 Jul 06 - 11:37 AM I can't tell because I'm a little fuzzy myself. |

Subject: RE: BS: Ther Mudcat Cafe Logo From: Jeri Date: 16 Jul 06 - 11:10 AM It's you Giok. You gotta quit drinkin' that cask-strength stuff. A short time ago, I DID find another 'mudcat' website that seemed to have poached the catfish. (Same logo, with no banjo neck.) http://www.mudcatfalls.com/, which is way funnier than your average hernia. |

Subject: RE: BS: Ther Mudcat Cafe Logo From: gnu Date: 16 Jul 06 - 10:51 AM I don't notice any difference. Even after I cleaned my screen. |

Subject: BS: The Mudcat Cafe Logo From: John MacKenzie Date: 16 Jul 06 - 10:45 AM Is it just me, or has anybody else's blue Mudcat Cafe logo at the top left of the page, gone fuzzy? I know my Mother said I would go blind eventually, but this is getting ridiculous! G.. |
