Subject: RE: BS: Making A Living??? From: GUEST,sbbradio Date: 01 Sep 06 - 01:51 PM Thank you for the compliment,of being an anarchist. Actually we are more akin to a pioneer, and as the old expression goes, the pioneer is the one lying face down on the trial with an arrow in its back. There are those who wish to make music for enjoyment and there are those who wish to earn a living at it. There has been no organization to assist the industry, nor any real education to assist the small business band. So we are going to try to help. we are also non profit. so hopefully you will listen in and take part in the workshops. www.sbbradio.com |

Subject: RE: BS: Making A Living??? From: Big Al Whittle Date: 30 Aug 06 - 05:15 AM In a way this is a real anarchist. This is someone who thinks there is a way to buck the laws of supply and demand, in the same way as that guy in Dublin thinks he can throw away the book on the laws of conservation of mass and energy. I've spent a lifetime proving there is no demand for my music. Perhaps it was a lifetime wasted, but otherwise how could I have been sure. It was the best I was capable of - my best shot. Of course with the new technology and the internet etc - there are new avenues opening up all the time. But I can't be arsed to explore them. Make music and write songs because you feel your life is better for making music and writing songs. Don't expect any favours from the world, because by and large - its not in a giving mood. |
