Is this a recipe for an explosive device?

"Getting 25% of the bone ash OUT is left as a problem for the student to figger..."

I know the answer to that one. It was in one of my favorite childhood folktales. You get a little magic doll (left to you by your dead mother), you give it a little beer and bread, and it summons a horde of ants and commands them to remove the proper number of tiny grains. Easy.

Hi, you say ...I have the following glaze already dry mixed. I don't need it anymore...

The quantities that you must add would depend on whether you used any of the original batch. If so, you must weigh it first before you do your sums.

This isn't maths, it's chemistry (or baking, not a lot of difference except you don't get to eat the results in chemistry)!

It's so much more fun to take advantage of this folk-math forum.

Actually, it's just the same case as the last one -- just a safeguard since I work alone -- someone to double-check my math. The upside is saving $50 worth of chemicals, the downside would be lotsa bad pots if I got it wrong.

John, you realy need to get a set formula for this. You asked a very similar question four years ago.

Mean to tell me you can't remember that far back? Probably working with too many chemicals...

:D

Add the following:

EPK 1250g
Feldspar 2635g
Whiting 1065g
Talc 200g
Red Iron 0g
Bone Ash 50g
Rutile 600g

Or, just dip the stuff in the original recipe and spray a rutile wash over it.

If you are willing to double the batch, it's easy.

Are the relative proportions essential to the glaze?

I have the following glaze already dry mixed. I don't need it anymore.

EPK 2500g
Feldspar 5270g
Whiting 2130g
Talc 400
Red Iron 600
Bone Ash 400

I do need the following glaze which contains all the same chemicals but in different amounts (plus one extra chemical)

EPK 2500g
Feldspar 5270g
Whiting 2130g
Talc 400g
Red Iron 400g
Bone Ash 300g
Rutile 400g

What would I have to add to the first (already mixed) batch to convert it into a batch of the second?
