Subject: RE: Tech: Writing a Flat From: Cluin Date: 11 Dec 06 - 06:46 PM The MusicalSymbols font has the flat sign mapped to the lower case b. You can download it at http://www.grel.ch/ftp/TrueTypeFonts/M/ It is MusicalSymbols.ttf Install it to your Fonts folder (through Control Panel) and access it through any application from your fonts list. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Writing a Flat From: Cluin Date: 11 Dec 06 - 06:30 PM There are a few free fonts out there on the Web with many musical characters (and even guitar chord diagrams) in them. A quick search on Google will turn them up. I used to have one on my old computer, but I forget what it was called. It's likely available as a download somewhere for free (my favourite price). I'll see if I can find the name.... |

Subject: RE: Tech: Writing a Flat From: McGrath of Harlow Date: 11 Dec 06 - 06:27 PM type charmap into Run, in Windows XP, and you'd probably find something in there to do the job. At least until someone comes up with a better option. I tend just to use an italic b - b (that's (i)b(/i) , but with arrow brackets like < instead of round brackets.) |

Subject: RE: Tech: Writing a Flat From: Scrump Date: 11 Dec 06 - 06:20 PM There was a thread on this recently - it would be worth your while searching for it, to save repeating it all again. Good luck! |

Subject: Tech: Writing a Flat From: John Hardly Date: 11 Dec 06 - 06:11 PM Anyone know if there's a "wingding" or some such microsoft word font with which to write out a flat? The # works fine for sharp, but b falls...er...flat. |
