Subject: Video of Pete Seeger singing Deportee? From: DianeV Date: 07 Jun 26 - 09:12 PM I am the person who joined in about 2011 trying to figure out whether I had the original recording of Depotee (Plane Wreck at Los Gatos) sung by Matin Hoffman, who wrote the music that turned Woody's words into a song. Long story short, it was a copy of the original reel-to-reel, but yes, it was the original. Since then, Tim Z. Hernandez has found 15 of the victims'families, published 2 books, fundraised and had a beautiful memorial placed at the cemetery, been involved in the placement of another beautiful memorial at the crash site, and the documentary is in post production. We have been trying to locate video or film of Pete Seeger singing the song for quite a while, but have not found anything other than audio. If you are aware of anything, please let me know! To the best of our knowledge, the only video of Pete singing this song is the one Tim got during his interview at Pete's home a few months before Pete passed away. |
