Subject: RE: Radient Hob v Ceramic Hob From: Alan Day Date: 14 Nov 07 - 05:19 PM I would prefer Gas Leadfingers ,but there is no gas down our lane. Thanks Dick. There is only about £100 difference in price so if a Radient one is better, then that looks to be the one to go for.I just wondered if anyone had experienced any difficulties with this type of cooker. Subject: RE: Radient Hob v Ceramic Hob From: s&r Date: 14 Nov 07 - 05:34 PM We have a halogen hob - great. Needs careful cleaning, but looks great and works well. Halogen is much faster than the other radiant rings; ours has one halogen ring for fast boiling. Stu |

Subject: RE: Radient Hob v Ceramic Hob From: Sorcha Date: 14 Nov 07 - 05:57 PM Mum had one of the earliest ceramic hob tops. She had to buy special absolutely FLAT bottomed glass/ceramic cook pots to use on it. The burner areas never yellowed at all. I understand the newer ones don't need the special pots and DO turn yellow. It has to be cleaned with a special cleaner...something similar to 'Soft Scrub' or it will scratch. Mom loved hers. I'd never have one because I can't use my cast iron on it. I also 'inherited' all mom's cast iron when she bought her stove! |

Subject: RE: Radient Hob v Ceramic Hob From: gnu Date: 14 Nov 07 - 06:32 PM They cook "evenly". They clean up nicely... I use Cerama Bryte. I love gas but the hobs here now are expensive as gas is just in, |

Subject: RE: Radient Hob v Ceramic Hob From: Rapparee Date: 14 Nov 07 - 07:34 PM Druther have gas, but a gas cooktop would cost about US$1,000 and the same to have the gas hooked up FROM THE BLOODY BASEMENT!!! So I cook on electric coils. |

Subject: RE: Radient Hob v Ceramic Hob From: Ella who is Sooze Date: 15 Nov 07 - 03:51 AM had a cemramic hob when we moved into our house. It drove me bonkers (mad), all our pans were for gas hobs and useless on ceramic hobs. I sold that oven and hob and had a gas hob and electric oven. Fab! Hapis Iawn. EWIS |
