I had never realised until a few days ago that there existed such things as Filkies. Now I do I wonder what fine instruments they play. Is the one in the link one such instrument? Funky Filkie Mandolin

Many filkers are just folkers in SF clothing. :) Any instrument that will add to the music will work in most cases.

I like theremins. Is that instrument a theremin? Just a guess, not being able to see it myself. :)

I don't think it's a theremin, Teresa (I thought of theremins too). The thing in the link looks like a cyborged mandolin. It looks kind of exploded, rearranged a bit haphazardly, with extra bits tacked on.
