Subject: RE: BS: Pete Townshend a Child Fondler? From: GUEST Date: 10 May 03 - 09:29 AM I wouldn't consider Woody Allen in the same league as someone financially supporting the criminals guilty of exploiting children in the porn industry, though, as Townsend has done. At the time, Woody Allen's decision to be sexually involved with a minor to whom his de facto emotional relationship with was step-father, looked very bad. People seem to have accepted what he did though, because he married her. But I'm still suspicious that he married her to keep his movie career from being destroyed, and that it is really a marriage of convenience for him. |

His relationship with his (now) wife would appear from the documentary that she is quite assertive and is providing something he certainly needs which has very little to do with sex, or if it does t'aint none of our business. I don't doubt that she is gaining a lot of what she wants from the relationship. On the basis of what I saw, it was anything but unseemly. |
Subject: RE: BS: Pete Townshend a Child Fondler? From: GUEST Date: 10 May 03 - 11:07 AM I haven't seen the documentary you mention Mr. Red. But I would say that the circumstances surrounding their becoming a couple were quite unseemly, and nearly cost him his career. |
Subject: RE: BS: Pete Townshend a Child Fondler? From: Mr Red Date: 11 May 03 - 10:29 AM I didn't follow the details of the court case - his very public take was "extremely cynical". I do remember the Andre Previn severence and that was a public affair too, and Mia didn't dress herself in integrity then. What did the courts decide on Woody Allen. |
