In response to an early post:

According to the credits on the "Live At Folsom Prison" album, the song
"I've Been Flushed From The Bathroom Of Your Heart" was written by Jack
Clement, who also wrote the preceding song "Dirty Old Egg Sucking Dog"
(another humorous title and tune).

Harlan Howard did write two of the songs on that album; "Busted" which
originally appeared on Cash's album; "Blood, Sweat And Tears" and "The
Wall" which originally appeared on his "Orange Blossom Special" album.

"I Forgot To Remember To Forget" by Elvis and Johnny is another funny
title.
"All My Ex's Live In Texas" by George Strait was a funny song title.

"I'd Like to Check You for Ticks"

Lyrics:

I'D LIKE TO CHECK YOU FOR TICKS
As sung by Brad Paisley

Every time you take a sip
In this smoky atmosphere
You press that bottle to your lips
And I wish I was your beer
In the small there of your back
Your jeans are playing peekaboo
I'd like to see the other half of your butterfly tattoo.

Hey that gives me an idea
Let's get out of this bar
Drive out into the country
And find a place to park.

CHORUS:
'Cause I'd like to see you out in the moonlight
I'd like to kiss you way back in the sticks
I'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers
And I'd like to check you for ticks.

I know the perfect little path
Out in these woods I used to hunt
Don't worry babe I've got your back
And I've also got your front
Now, I'd hate to waste a night like this
I'll keep you safe you wait and see
The only thing allowed to crawl all over you when we get there is me.

You know every guy in here tonight
Would like to take you home
But I've got way more class than them
Babe that ain't what I want.

You never know where one might be
There's lots of place that are hard to reach...

I'd sure like to check you for ticks...

. . . and John Prine had some other catchy lines in "Sam Stone" like

"Little pitchers have big ears"
"Sam Stone . . .was alone . . . when he popped his last balloon"

His humor continued with songs like "Dear Abby", the one about " Hari Krishna Beauregard", another about the lonely soldier who fell in love with Lydia, the big fat gal in the theater ticket window, etc.

Was it the Stanley Brothers who did those classics such as:

"Grandpa Fell Asleep and the Hogs Ate Him"

or

"Son, Get Up and Light the Lamp, I Think I Knocked One of Your Maw's Eyeballs Out"

Then there was the megahit:

"(I Cannot Hear You With These) Beans In My Ears!"

etc., etc., etc., ad nausem!

I guess I forgot my name when I posted that last one and ended up shown as "GUEST". That's only because I forgot to wear my name tag!
