Blip.tv is a higher quality alternative to You Tube if you are into posting your music on the net.
There is a mute button in the video clips upper left window when you go to the home page, if you don't want to hear the clips.

Well Alice, I have been trying to upload a 4min video onto this site all afternoon. It just takes ages like 110 mins!!! Then when it gets to the end it's not uploaded! I joined and followed all the instructions. I'm not impressed!

Worked fine for me, apart from one (Ukrainian Funeral Music) which I couldn't get to download. But the others - even the half-hour clips - ran fine, and I didn't have to join or do anything. Larger screen and better overall picture quality, though one film pixellated pretty badly; but surely that's down to how good the original is. UTube is full of glitches too, some of them positively baroque. Hard to judge sound over my tiny laptop speakers but it's certainly as good as UTube.

I like it & will keep going back - thanks for the headsup Alice. :-)

(Sal, are you on broadband or dial-up? My b/b handled it fine but it would have completely constipated my old modem.)

I meant I wanted to put a video on it. I can watch them with no problem, but I tried to upload a video and gave up, twice cos it took so so so long.

That's the quality trade-off. As the Germans say "Gut Ding braucht Weile": you need time to do it well. I'm still enamoured of YouTube.
