You miss the point, Puttycat.

The technology--the FIREARMS--have changed a great deal since then. You can't kill a couple of dozen people in a matter of a few seconds with a single shot flintlock.

BUT the situation isn't funny, whereby the greatest nation on earth remains in need of such commercials, funny or otherwise. I might just have said it before:~~ We over here just can't get our heads round what is wrong with you guys over there and your bloody dysfunctional "gun laws".

Am I being offensive? Sorry. So sue me! But please don't say it isn't any of our business. It's everybody's business who has to live in the same world as your gun non-laws.

Good commercial. I agree with both sides of the issue as commented upon above. I had high hopes for the "gun vote" for a number of reasons. I have discussed those reasons in many threads. Sooo...

An American 'import' we are blessed with in Ireland is the journalist Mary Ellen Synon.
She told the people of Kerry on local radio that it was the "duty" of all rural dwellers to own a gun.
The same lady lost her column in a national daily for describing the Paralympics as "grotesque"
Can you take her back please?

We could argue that point. But even if it is clear - that doesn't mean it can't be changed.
