Subject: BS: pictures of the sky From: Donuel Date: 12 Jul 22 - 06:12 AM Hold a grain of sand at arms length and that is the amount of sky this photo encompasses, so this image is magnified James Webb 'snapshot' I see lots of gravitational lensing going on here. I bet we all have taken pictures of sunset skies, got any? |
Subject: RE: BS: pictures of the sky From: Steve Shaw Date: 12 Jul 22 - 06:38 AM Can't see it without signing up for something. No thanks. |
Subject: RE: BS: pictures of the sky From: Steve Shaw Date: 12 Jul 22 - 06:50 AM Ah, something changed and I'm OK with it now. Sorry about that, whatever it was... |
Subject: RE: BS: pictures of the sky From: Donuel Date: 12 Jul 22 - 07:47 AM Thats why I didn't link to the Washington Post. I paid and still got blocked. |
Subject: RE: BS: pictures of the sky From: Mr Red Date: 14 Jul 22 - 03:41 AM that link is adding cookies. First time in is nothing, second time you get something - clue to snooping. AND the website doesn't credit the European Space Agency or the Canadian Space Agency both of whom contributed - big time. Wiping immediately. The images come from NASA, the NASA website which has to be free. My goto authority is Dr Becky - entertaining, enthusiastic and doing research using the data from the JWST. Specialty is Black Holes research, but she has many videos on all aspects of "sky news", not one dud amongst them. |

Subject: RE: BS: pictures of the sky From: Joe_F Date: 16 Jul 22 - 05:29 PM I bring up APOD every morning, and thereafter in between all the other things I do with my computer. It is almost always a relief. Even the violence is comfortingly far away. |
