I am a 60 year old Virgin(Mudcat Virgin that is)so can someone tell me how to quickly find an old thread of mine when I haven't the foggiest idea of when I sent it or the thread name.

Also what is BS?

do you remember any of what it was called..... if so put one of the words into the search box and set the number of days to roughly when you remember posting it

jimlad - do a forum search (the box on the right) and put in jimlad - it will bring up all your past posts.

or you could do what I just did and click on your name at the top of that last post and it takes you to a search engine on your name with all the threads you have posted to.....

click here and pick what thread you were after

"BS" is American for bullshit - idle chatter. Non-music topics at Mudcat are labelled "BS," so I added that label to this thread.

Of course, if you're uncomfortable with the word "bullshit" you may substitute Breeze-Shooting (as in "shooting the breeze" – another American phrase that means idle chatter).

The only problem with clicking on your own name on the "From" line of your own post on any thread is that it'll bring up a list of all messages you posted under that exact name only. For example, if you click on my name on the "From" line of this post, you'll see all posts I made under my member name but not the posts I made before I was a member (where the "From" line reads "GUEST,SharonA"), nor the posts I've made more recently from computers I didn't log in to (such as "GUEST,SharonA at the library" or "GUEST,SharonA on vacation").

So, jimlad, if you're not sure whether you started your thread as a member or a GUEST, your best bet is to do a "Forum Search" by clicking-and-holding on the Quick Links pop-up box at the top of this page and scrolling down to "Forum Search". Then type your name in the "UserName" field and you'll get a list of all posts made with the name "jimlad" anywhere on the "From" line of any post.

Clear as mud?
