Wales 30 - Ireland 22, and the Grand Slam! (This will be as clear as mud to most non-UK Catters. It refers to rugby.)

Also, my birthday, for which a friend of mine wrote me a very good song as a present.(not about me or my birthday, thank goodness)

Edmund

I know nothing of rugby, nor football, nor baseball nor any sich sports, but I (& Joe Offer!) do know something of birthdays (Joe knowing more than I, being that he has enjoyed more of them than I.)

So a belated happy birthday to you CET! A song is a grand gift for a birthday!

I would have preferred a slightly different score...

Happy B'day!! Rugby... sigh. I can only wish. Here it's baseball, basketball, reruns of old hockey games. Even the best curling is over. We get a few soccer games per week. We get one rugby game per week, when it's Six nations or another of the big leagues, so I haven't seen a rugby game in weeks. We get one, one, ONE game of Ozzie footy a year, A YEAR!

Belated birthday wishes Edmund. Well done Wales.
I won't repeat the Scotland / England score - but my husband and kids' country won... and it's my birthday on Tuesday (!) - hope to have something to smile about!
H.

Gee, and in 2002 Ireland beat Wales.

I was even there, well, in Ireland anyway, at the time.

The Welsh took it philosophically, only wrecking four pubs, burning two towns, and beating up fewer than forty Irish -- the men with them were a bit harsher, though.

Happy Birthday, belated or otherwise.

Thanks, all, and many happy returns to you, bbc.

If it was any other game, I'd be wearing my Irish jersey and cheering for Brian O'Driscoll, Peter Stringer and the lads. We're luckier in Ottawa than a lot of places - two venues had the satellite subscription for the Six Nations from Setanta Sport, so I watched all three matches yesterday at an Irish pub in the Byward Market. There were an amazing number of red jerseys, but the Irish crowd were friendly, even when some of us were singing Cwm Rhondda and Sospan Fach.
