Pine, Raptor; (stained to walnut) a few weeks ago, it was glued up from three squared-off scraps of 2x4, and a couple of scraps of board layered for the arm. I didn't want to invest in a big hunk of premiun carving wood, being as I'd never done anything like this, and I wasn't sure I wouldn't trash it and have to start over.
